
Information about Ken Roberts
Ken was born and raised in Kentucky. Recieving his education and graduating from Michigan State University with a BA in studio arts, he began a career in commercial art, working as an Art Director, Designer and Illustrator.
Ken spent the 70’s and 80’s working in California as a designer and illustrator for many of the top advertising agencies. The work was rewarding and fulfilling, but hectic. When it came time to contemplate retirement, he moved back to Kentucky, building a home on Lake Barkley. This move gave Ken the opportunity to do what he always wanted to do, become a fine artist.
Ken and his wife Sandy have two daughters and four grandchildren. They all have located to this area of the country. "It makes life a lot more enjoyable to have family close."
Ken started making metal sculptures about ten years and they were immediately well received. "I really enjoy making them. Each one is different with a new set of problems presented in every new project. When I make a fish or a snake, I don't try to reproduce and specific species, I just let it happen."
